Areas of origin of the tree species for forest seed INSPIRE

The forest areas of origin of the tree species are subject to the FoVG (Forest Propagating Material Act) and were drawn up on the basis of the Ordinance on areas of origin for forest reproductive material (Forest Propagating Material Ordinance, FoVHgV of 7 October 1994 (BGBl. I, p. 3578), as amended by the Ordinance of 15.1.2003 (BGBl. I, p. 238)). They are available as vector data in the INSPIRE data model “Management areas/protected areas/regulated areas and reporting” for the following 28 tree species: ACER platanoides/peak maple; ACER pseudoplatanus/mountain maple; Alnus glutinosa/black alder; Alnus incana/grey alder; Betula pendula/hanging birch; Betula pubescens/Moor-Birke; Carpinus betulus/usual hornbeam; Castanea sativa/Noble chestnut; Fagus sylvatica/red beech; Fraxinus excelsior/usual ash; Prunus avium/bird cherry; Quercus rubra/red oak; Quercus robur/Stiel oak; Quercus petraea/grape oak; Robinia pseudoacacia/Robinie; Tilia cordata/Winter-Linde; Tilia platyphyllos/summer lip; Abies alba Mill./White fir; Abies grandis Lindl./Coastal fir; Larix decidua/European larch; Larix kaempferi/Japanese larch; Picea abies/usual spruce; Picea sitchensis/Sitka spruce; Pinus nigra var. austriaca/Black pine; Pinus nigra var. calabrica/Black pine; Pinus nigra var. corsicana/Black pine; Pinus sylvestris/forest pine; Pseudotsuga menziesii/Douglasie. However, only the limits of the basic ecological units for the delimitation of forest areas referred to in Appendix 1 to the above-mentioned Regulation are legally binding for the allocation of forest areas (see also dataset “Basic ecological units for the delimitation of forest areas of origin”).
