A digital terrain model (DGM) is a digital, numerical model of terrain heights and shapes. The DGM5 relief collapse is derived from the DGM1 with a grid width of 1 m. In the resolution of the DGM5 relief collapse, one pixel in the image corresponds to 25 m² on the Earth’s surface. The (grey) value allocation for each lattice point takes place depending on the height difference of adjacent grid points and by lighting with an imaginary light source from the northwest. The surface tint creates a spatial impression of the relative height differences of the terrain. The debris image does not provide any information about the absolute height.
