ATKIS — Digital Landscape Model 1: 50 000

The Digital Landscape Model 1: 50 000 (ATKIS-DLM50) is derived from the basic DLM by model generalisation. Geometries are simplified and object types according to the object species catalogue ATKIS-OK50 are formed. The model generalisation is the transfer of a detailed, locust model (e.g. ATKIS base DLM) into a locust model of lower content density. This process runs fully automatically and the ATKIS-DLM50 is generated from the initial data base of the ATKIS base DLM. With its content generalisation and a simplification of the geometric structures, the ATKIS-DLM50 has a higher degree of abstraction than the initial model and is thus significantly reduced in the scope of data. The vector database meets the specifications of the object species catalog ATKIS-OK50 regarding the technical differentiation and the acquisition criteria (minimum sizes, etc.) and is semantic and geometrically generalised, but not cartographically generalised. This data base is considered a national landscape model 1: 50 000 (ATKIS-DLM50) offered and updated ½ yearly. The data is provided free of charge via automated procedures or by self-collection.
