Digital Basic Landscape Model (ATKIS®)

The ATKIS® Basic DLM describes the topographic objects of the landscape in vector format. The objects are defined by their spatial location, geometric type, descriptive attributes and relationships with other objects (relations). Each object has a unique identification number throughout Germany (identifier). Which object types the ATKIS® Basic DLM contains and how the objects are to be formed is defined in the ATKIS Object Type Catalogue (ATKIS®-OK). The individual object types are combined into different object type groups (e.g. settlement, traffic), which in turn are combined into object areas (e.g. actual use). When the ATKIS® basic DLM is delivered in ESRI shape format, a different division of the data into layers and files is available. When distributing the ATKIS® Basic DLM in NAS format, any object type groups, object ranges or the entire database can be selected, and any selection by layer and shape file is possible when distributing in ESRI shape format.
