Digital orthophotos (DOPs) are distortion-free and scale-to-scale grid data of photographic images of the Earth’s surface. They are derived from oriented aerial images and a digital elevation model. The data set covers the entire territory of the Federal Republic of Germany as an overlap-free and seamless mosaic of the DOPs of the Länder’ surveying administrations cut at the national borders. The DOPs are available as a 3-channel real color image (red-green-blue), as a 1-channel infrared image or as a 3-channel color infrared image (NIR-Red_Green, so-called false colors).
