In contrast to the Digital Terrain Model — DGM, the Digital Surface Model (DOM) describes not the height of the natural ground (roads), but the height of the surface of the natural and artificial objects on Earth (e.g. vegetation, buildings, vehicles). This is a situation model based on a laser scan flight.
