State Forest Saarland The entire land area of the Saarland is completely divided into forest areas. Within these areas, the head of the forest area is responsible for the management of the state forest and the contractually supervised municipal and private forest. In addition, there are municipal and private forest owners who manage their forests in their own direction. Employees of the SaarForst state-owned company carry out only a limited number of governmental tasks on their premises. The boundaries of the forest areas have been digitised on the basis of the TK25 and therefore do not correspond in all cases with the limits of the forest population.
