Federal Agency for Nature Conservation: Natural Spatial Structure (WMS)

WMS Map Service of the Natural Spatial Structure of Germany provides the classification of the natural spatial structure according to Meynen & Schmithüsen, the classification into natural spaces and large landscapes according to Ssymank and the division into biogeographical regions. The boundaries of the main natural units and groups of the main units are based on the natural structure according to Meynen, Schmithuesen et al. (1953-1962). The delimitation of the natural spaces was based on the main units of the natural spatial structure according to Meynen, Schmidthüsen et al. (1953-1962) and the landscape division of the Institute of Applied Geodesy (Map of the Federal Republic of Germany 1:1000000 — Landscapes, 1979).
