Field capacity of soil (VBK50)

Field capacity of the soil up to 100 cm profile depth is the amount of soil water in volume % or mm water column that can bind at a suction voltage pF >= 1,8 or in pores with an equivalent diameter <= 50 µm. Classification is carried out in accordance with KA5, p. 349, tab. 74. For soils where skeleton or solid rocks are at a lower depth, the data refer to the thickness of the soluum. Classification: very low — < 21 % vol. low — 21 to < 30 % vol. average — 30 to < 39 % vol. high — 39 to < 48 % vol. very high — > = 48 % vol.
