Dataset description
The data set contains the land-based objects for forest fire protection in the Free State of Saxony. These are mainly the areas covered by the Automatic Forest Fire Early Detection System (AWFS). The AWFS consists of 17 cameras at selected locations that monitor the forest areas of forest fire hazard class A and B during the particularly forest fire hazard period from 15 February to 15 October. Forest fire protection includes preventive measures to prevent the emergence and spread of forest fires. The data form the basis for the forest fire protection maps 1:25,000 and 1:100,000 in Saxony.
