Dataset description

Climate protection forest protects settlements, roads, recreation facilities and agricultural land from cold air damage and adverse wind impacts (local climate protection forest) and improves the climate of neighbouring settlements and open spaces through large-scale air exchange (regional climate protection forest). Forest also protects downstream surfaces from wind effects. In case of dense obstacles, e.g. in forest, additional turbulence can also occur. The forest therefore also contributes to air mixing.
