Funding framework BENE Environment 2014-2020

With the Berlin Programme for Sustainable Development (BENE), the state of Berlin is supporting projects in the sub-programmes BENE Climate and BENE Umwelt with the aim of reducing CO2 and improving nature and the environment. The programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. While the promotion of CO2 reduction is possible throughout the urban area, the promotion of BENE environment is limited to selected areas of the city. Actions in the field of BENE Environment should contribute to improving the quality of residence and quality of life in the socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods and their environment. Support will be given to actions to improve green infrastructure. Another focus is on support measures to reduce noise or air pollution. The measures are closely linked to the support measures of the Future Initiative District II (ZIS II) and refer to the same assisted areas. Within the city centre, funding is also possible in the directly adjacent areas (with a radius of 2 km). The park “Großer Tiergarten” and the “Mitte” district are excluded.
