The dataset Geological Subareas — Regional Geological Structure of North Rhine-Westphalia has been compiled on the basis of the Natural Spatial Structure of North Rhine-Westphalia 1:200,000 and the Information System Geological Map of North Rhine-Westphalia 1:100.000 [IS GK 100]. It divides the land area into a total of 37 units, which can be grouped together into six higher-level regions.
