The Geological Service SH dealt with the 3D modeling and lithological characterisation of potential reservoir and barrier complexes. For different structural types, 3D geological models of the subsurface were constructed in three subareas: (1) hollow storage, (2) saltstock flank, synclinal, transgression structure and (3) anticlinal structure. The models consist of lithostratigraphic interfaces between the terrain surface and the base of the Zechstone and, depending on the location, contain disturbances and envelopes of salt diapires. The models of the deeper surface are complemented by near-surface hydrostratigraphic models. The models and other parameters represent realistic virtual case studies that are transferable to other areas of the NW-German Basin and serve further studies. The data is the basis for risk assessments and an important part of studies to study monitoring methods or numerical process simulations.
