Dataset description
Persistent rainfall has led to severe floods in many parts of Germany in recent days. The local forces are supported by the Federal Police, the Bundeswehr and the Technical Relief Agency. At the Saale there is the highest level of alarm. In Halle in Saxony-Anhalt, floods have risen to the highest level in 400 years. Many parts of the city are under water. Pleiades data from 05.06.2013 (10:08 UTC) with a spatial resolution of 0.5 meters serve as a background image. In the zoom boxes A/B an enlarged cut-out is shown in the air and satellite image comparison. This product was created within the framework contract “ZKI-DE” between the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Updated product versions are available at http://www.zki.dlr.de.
