As part of the implementation of the EU Water Framework Directive, the first and more detailed description of the groundwater coerper Rhineland-Palatinate is an inventory of the subsurface of the river basins in Rhineland-Palatinate with the aim of recording those groundwater bodies for which there is a risk of not achieving the environmental objectives set out in Article 4 of the EU WFD. The description is based on the hydrogeological overview map of Germany (Hük 200). Since 2001, it has been established by the German State Geological Services (SGD) and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Raw Materials (BGR) in scale 1: 200 000 in the sheet sections of the TK 200. The contents correspond to the Hük 200 of the BGR. Catchment areas of 50 to 500 km² were aggregated. Terms of use see: http://www.lgb-rlp.de/karten-und-produkte/online-karten/nutzungsbedingungen-fuer-online-karten.html
