Hunting districts (District of Göttingen)

Legal basis: § 4 Federal Hunting Act (BJagdG). The right to hunt is the exclusive power to breed, hunt and acquire wild animals subject to the hunting law in a given area. Hunting districts are areas in which hunting may be carried out. They are either self-hunting districts (at least 75 hectares of contiguous area) or community hunting districts (area not belonging to a self-hunting district of at least 150 hectares). Areas where hunting rests are pacified districts according to § 6 BJagdG. The delimitation of the hunting districts and the pacified districts are determined by the Lower Hunting Authority of the district.
