The DGM describes the terrain surface through the spatial coordinates of a representative set of terrain points. Height information is thus kept independent of scale and data processing. Based on the 3D measurement data from Airborne Laserscanning (ALS) available since 2019, a high-precision DGM1 (grid width 1 m) is provided. The DGM data are positionally determined in the ETRS89/UTM coordinate system, the height refers to the DHHN2016 with normal height zero (NHN). The DGM is continued on the basis of stereoscopic image evaluation. It is currently carried out exclusively on an occasional basis and in a three-year update cycle. In the future, it is planned to include 3D structural information such as ground break edges and distinctive terrain points in the generation of the DGM.
