The digital information system Hydrogeological Map of North Rhine-Westphalia 1: 100 000 is a practice-oriented interpretation and extension of the information system Geological Map of North Rhine-Westphalia 1: 100 000. It is available nationwide. The information system manages qualitative information on the hydrogeologically relevant properties of the upper aquifer and the superimposed top layers. The digital hydrogeological map is standard on average of the 20 sheets of the analog map of the Geological Map 1: 100 000 [GK 100]. On request, however, sheet-cut-free cuttings can also be provided for each freely defined examination room. The contents of this information system are continuously supplemented and updated by new findings on the ground. Surface and line objects are linked to a hydrogeological database on a modern information system that enables various practice-oriented thematic evaluation maps on the distribution and permeability of groundwater conductive and low-conducting rock units as well as the geochemical rock type and type of cavity.
