The map shows an evaluation of satellite images from 2005 of the CORINE land cover units (level 1 for all classes and level 2 for cultivated land).
Evaluation of satellite images from 2005 with regard to CORINE land cover units (level 1 for all classes and level 2 for built-up areas):
— 11000 urban embossed surfaces
— 12000 Industrial, commercial and traffic areas
— 13000 mining areas, landfills and construction sites
— 14000 artificial, non-agricultural green areas
— 20000 agricultural land
— 30000 forests and areas close to nature
— 40000 wet surfaces
— 50000 water surfaces
The data was validated using high-resolution orthophotos (point-based sample: for each point in a sample, the mapping result is compared with real land use from the orthophoto). The pixel resolution is 10 m. In the “Industrial, Commercial and Traffic Areas” class, roads are mapped only from a width of 40 m. The position accuracy of the satellite data is ± 1 pixel (i.e. ± 10 m) according to the product specifications. The data accuracy is given at approx. 90 %.
