Land use plan of the city of Braunschweig

The land use plan as the “preparatory planning plan” of the city of Braunschweig represents the intended land use for the entire urban area in broad lines. With its contents, it forms the basis for more detailed determinations in individual sub-areas of the city, the “binding planning plans” (development plan). The purpose of the land use plan is to present the type of building space, open spaces, etc. of important urban use for the entire urban area with regard to the intended urban development. It must take into account the overarching objectives of spatial planning and regional planning, but must also take into account the concerns of nature and landscape and those of other specialist planning.
