This data set contains the currently legally effective land use plans (FNP) of the cities and municipalities in the greater Braunschweig area.
It shall include the original versions of the plans as well as any legally effective and procedural changes.
The collection and updating of this data is carried out by the Regional Association of Greater Braunschweig on the basis of the land use plans drawn up by the cities and municipalities.
The regional association itself is not responsible for the planning of construction management and therefore not planning the land use plans. The responsibility here lies solely with the planning cities and municipalities. When the municipal land use plans are included in the regional association’s cadastre, an adaptation is made to a uniform topographical basis (official map 1:5,000). Furthermore, the substantive definitions of the plans are partly harmonised, with the aim of presenting identical definitions of different municipalities with a single plan sign. In detail, there may therefore be deviations in the presentation between the land use plans recorded in this dataset and the municipal versions. In case of doubt, the legally binding plans shall be consulted by the competent authorities of the cities and municipalities.
The common and unified presentation of the land use plans in a dataset serves as an aid tool within the management of the regional association in the context of its tasks as a carrier of regional planning and as the Lower Land Planning Authority. The publication of the data is carried out in coordination with the cities and municipalities and is generally understood as a service offer.
