Area data collected from the raw material holdings, where the LGRB’s ‘operational surveys’ are usually carried out either in the context of the LGRB’s regional planning advice, opinions as public authorities, drawing up raw material maps or on the occasion of the raw material report. Four groups of areas are distinguished: (1) Property, which is subdivided into the area types (1a) mining area = cleared area currently affected by the mining (“punctured” area). (1b) Enlargement area = still “uncut”, but already approved for mining. (1c) Recultivated/renatured area = refilled area, area in replenishment or renatured within the existing concession. (2) Requested areas are not shown and can be requested from the Land Council offices, the Landesbergdirektion or the government offices. (3) Former mining area = no longer concessional area in which earlier (also historical) mining was circumvented; it is subdivided into (3a) former mining area, completely mined (no more stocks) (3b) former mining area, not fully mined, but without degraded reserves (3c) former mining area, not fully mined, with still worthy reserves.
