Dataset description

The relief-related potential “soil moisture index” represents a measure of the potential moisture conditions of the soil. It is calculated on the one hand from the complex relief parameter “intake area size”, i.e. the amount of water available through drainage and on the other hand from the local relief parameter inclination. This controls the flow velocity and thus the duration of the draining water. Unit: dimensionless index [Definition and calculation: by BOHNER & KÖTHE (2003)]
