For orientation in the urban area and for the unquestionable finding of plots, roads, paths and places with names are named and house numbers are assigned for buildings. Streets, paths and squares are named by the Council of the City of Braunschweig. The basis for the decision-making law is the Lower Saxony Municipal Order. In addition to the Council, the district councils, the homeland caretakers and various committees are involved in the designation of roads. The designation proposals are drawn up by the Department of Geoinformation, coordinated with the stakeholders and accompanied by the lead until the decision is taken. The list is available as a text file (tabstop-separated). — The indicated plan squares refer to the “Official City Map, edition 2013”. UTM coordinates (UTM Zone 32N, ETRS89, EPSG: 25832) denote the centre of the respective street name. Street names that are not shown in the city map are marked with a number. (Zip; 38.2 KB)
