List of Compensation Areas (District of Göttingen)

The legal basis is the intervention regulation pursuant to Section 14 et seq. of the Federal Nature Conservation Act and § 5 et seq. of the Lower Saxony Execution Act to the Federal Nature Conservation Act. Causes of so-called interventions in nature and landscape (significant damage to the natural budget or landscape) are obliged to compensate for these impairments by means of compensation or replacement measures. These measures are defined in the respective permits (e.g. planning permits, planning findings, land use and development plans, building permits,...). In the compensation area cadastre, the defined compensation and replacement measures of nature conservation and landscape maintenance for documentation and control purposes and to avoid double occupancy are recorded and described in terms of area.
