Areas of responsibility of the Lower Water Authorities in Lower Saxony. At the municipal level there is the establishment of the lower water authorities (UWB). As a rule, there is one UWB per district/district-free city. However, some larger cities of certain districts have their own water authority (e.g. the cities of Göttingen, Hameln, Hildesheim, Goslarund Celle). There are currently 54 UWBin Lower Saxony. Responsibility can be derived from municipal boundaries.
