The RKLS map on the potential erosion hazard due to water is based on the “General soil removal equation” (ABAG; cf. DIN 19708) and takes into account the R factor (erosion effectiveness of precipitation; long-term agent), the K-factor (errosion susceptibility of the upper soil, especially depending on the type of soil), the L-factor (erosive slope length) and the S-factor (pitch inclination). The field blocks are used as a reference for the calculation of the L-factor. Linear erosion forms (erosion channels, etc.) are not included in the evaluation. The soil removal determined in tonnes per hectare per year represents the situation in black fallow (permanently uncovered soil).
The RKLS card for the potential erosion hazard is available for the agricultural area of Thuringia (field block reference) in the 5 x 5 m grid (Grid).
