The monument mapping is part of the Hamburg Monument Information System. The mapped objects are connected to the physical data via the object number, so that selected information about the map can be retrieved. Current monuments are recorded.
The following categories (layers, layers) are included in the monument mapping:
— Monument objects (symbolic): e.g. statues, fountains, monuments without clear extension
— Boundary stones: historical border stones and border markings
— Building monuments: e.g. buildings, bridges, structural installations
— Construction monuments underground: e.g. tunnels
— Waters: e.g. harbour basins, canals, locks, ponds in parks and gardens
— Garden denkmale: e.g. public parks and gardens, historical cemeteries
— Outdoor facilities: e.g. pavements, paths and space designs
— Ensembles: at least two objects
Movable cultural monuments (e.g. collections, ships) are not mapped.
Part of this monument mapping are also selected tombs of Hamburg. This component clarifies the extensive representation of cemeteries protected as a monument from the general monument mapping by identifying the individual protected graves within the total protected cemeteries. So far, the graves on the following cemeteries have been recorded in individual layers:
• Jewish cemetery Königstraße in Altona
Other cemeteries will follow.
