The area types of the natural water balance describe a quasi-natural state of water balance over the ratio of the long-term values of evaporation, leaching and drainage (N=ET+Au+Ad).
The basis for the calculation is the discharge model ABIMO (BAfG) combined with GWNEU (Meßer). The types of areas refer to agricultural and forestry use without colonisation with the forest boundaries, the climate conditions and the soils of today.
6 types are shown: — evaporative dominant (ET > 81 %, Au < 14 %, Ad < 20 %)
— seepage-dominated (ET < 81 %, Au > 14 %, Ad < 20 %)
— drain-dominated (ET < 81 %, Au < 14 %, Ad > 20 %)
— Evaporation and leaching (ET 73-81 %, Au 6-14 %, Ad 6-12 %)
— Evaporation and drainage (ET 73 @-@ 81 %, Au < 6 %, Ad 13 @-@ 20 %)
— balanced (ET < 73 %, Au < 14 %, Ad < 20 %)
The model results refer only to the top metre of the Earth’s surface.
This must be taken into account when planning low-lying rainwater installations (e.g. Rigolen) and may need to be re-examined.
