Noise protection area at aerodromes

According to the Act on Protection against Airborne Noise (short: Air noise law) is to be defined for commercial airports and traffic landings with a traffic volume of more than 25,000 air movements per year noise protection areas. In Baden-Württemberg, this applies to the airports of Stuttgart, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden and Friedrichshafen as well as the Mannheim traffic landing area. A noise protection area consists of two day protection zones and one night protection zone. The purpose of the law is to ensure, in the vicinity of aerodromes, structural restrictions of use and structural sound insulation to protect the general public and the neighbourhood from hazards, significant disadvantages and significant nuisances caused by aircraft noise.
