Dataset description

On permanent agricultural test areas in the Free State of Saxony, a monitoring programme for the monitoring of the soil nitrogen budget under various forms of farming is underway. On the basis of soil samples in autumn, the average nitrate content at 0-60 cm depth of agricultural soil is determined annually on the permanent test areas. The permanent test areas represent the Saxony-wide representative trend for all soil and climate landscapes and forms of management and provide indications of the potential leaching risk of nitrate into groundwater.
