Dataset description

The historical maps are contemporary cultural witnesses of cartography and in particular reflect the political distribution of power. The Prussian state recording was taken from 1878 to 1880 and shows in the individual measuring table sheets the predominant topography at that time. The map scale of the individual measuring table sheets is 1:25,000 and corresponds with those of the topographic map 1:25,000 (TK25). In addition, the term chronological chart sheets are available, which, beyond the first edition of 1878/80, contain almost all other editions of the topographic map work 1:25,000 (TK25).
