Within the framework of the “Energieatlas Baden-Württemberg” a nationwide overview of open spaces, which are theoretically suitable for photovoltaic use according to the Renewable Energy Act (EEG), was compiled. Areas along motorways and rail lines as well as landfills and contaminated sites were taken into account.
