Dataset description
The site unit (StE) is the basic forest ecological unit; it summarises individual sites that do not have to be completely identical, but are so close that they have similar forest building possibilities and hazards and can expect similar performances of the main tree species. In combination of physiographic and vegetation-scientific methods, a site unit is described by morphological, geological-soil-scientific and floristic identifiers. In the Regional-Zonal en site unit, site units are unified according to their regional and vertical-zonal allocation.
