The spatial data series links the 3D city models published as “Open Data” by Freiburg im Breisgau. A 3D city model is understood as a simplified and scale-to-scale three-dimensional model of a city or district, which is created with a special software. In this model, the real objects of the city are depicted with the highest possible accuracy and up-to-dateness. The level of detail (LoD) of a 3D city model indicates how exactly the objects of the city are reproduced in the model.
