The solifluction index was developed to predict areas with preferred accumulation of solifluid deposits (flowing earths). It is calculated according to Böhner & SELIGE (2006) and uses the relative hang position, which closely correlates with the thickness of the periglacial solifluction ceilings. The relative slope position is combined with a factor calculated from specific catchment area size and weighted catchment slope (Böhner & SELIGE (2006).
