This book gives the reader the opportunity to get an overview of the strata sequences of the quaternary in no time. The complete quaternary strata sequence on the Lower Rhine was chronostratigraphically subdivided by state-of-the-art means and linked to stratigraphic results obtained from deep-sea drilling. On the Lower Rhine, a powerful and relatively complete strata sequence of the Quaternary period was deposited, because the Lower Rhine Bay is a young tectonic lowering area.
