From 3.4. to 30.9.2009 the exhibition “The Surveyors on the River” was shown in the Biosphere Reserve Administration in Rühstädt — a joint project with the LGB. The brochure of the same name reproduces the contents of the exhibition in both words and images. “What historical and current surveys and cartography tell of the Elbe-Brandenburg biosphere reserve” is the subtitle of the 112-page volume. The oldest image is an excerpt of the 14th century Catalan World Atlas. The Elbe is listed and possibly the first place in the region to be shown on a map: Lenzen. Over the following centuries until today, the reader learns about the history of the Prignitz vividly supported with maps of the respective time. The most recent images are graphical representations of the Digital Terrain Model (DGM2) from spring 2009.
