Dataset description

This download service is available for postcode areas in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. The postal codes are the original database of Deutsche Post Direkt GmbH. It is the area of valid 5-digit postal code numbers on German territory. The geometry of the postal code areas is not always identical to the boundaries of the administrative territorial units, it also consists of several sub-areas. The service is exclusively made available to federal authorities.
