Dataset description

The indicator describes the proportion of green areas and recreational facilities within the settlement area (e.g. park/greenhouse, small garden, weekend settlement, golf course) in the area area. High indicator values occur mainly in larger cities, as the structurally shaped settlement area in rural areas is mostly directly adjacent to the open space. Over time, there are greater differences in value in some federal states, which are partly based on no real land use change, but a modelling reassignment (see: AAA Migration Effects) More information at http://www.ioer-monitor.de/index.php?id=44&ID_IND=S08RG.
