Dataset description

Wildlife sanctuaries and wildlife rest areas act as places of refuge for wildlife from human worries. Wild protected areas were designated by the majority in the 1980s with reference to §38 LWaldG (Landeswaldgesetz) and §24 LJagdG (Landesjagdgesetz). In the course of the amendment of the Land Hunting Act, the wildlife protected areas designated in accordance with §24 LJagdG were transferred to the Hunting and Wildlife Management Act (JWMG) and renamed to wild rest areas (cf. §42 JWMG). The legal basis according to §38 LWaldG remains unaffected by this.
