WMS Ground-related chimney height

This service provides orientation values of the site-related chimney height, which must be taken into account in the planning and construction of new chimneys in accordance with TA Luft No 5.5.2.3(5). The elevation values in meters above ground were prepared by LANUV NRW on the basis of the DGM10 on a 10 m x 10 m grid. According to TA Luft No 5.5.2.3(5), the site must be taken into account in the chimney height calculation as follows: ‘Where the landscape horizon, viewed from the mouth of the chimney, is above the horizontal and its angle to the horizontal is greater than 15 degrees in a direction sector that is at least 20 degrees wide, the chimney height shall be increased until that angle is less than or equal to 15 degrees.’ The values given here are total between 0 and 250 m. The NoData value is 255. The elevation data must be checked for plausibility by a site inspection prior to their application and, if necessary, to be corrected taking into account further knowledge not shown in the DGM10. In a 3 km wide strip along the state border of NRW, the service is not available for technical reasons.
