The presentation service of heavy rain hazards is the results of the simulation of heavy rain events for the North Rhine-Westphalia region (NRW). The data contains the maximum water level heights and maximum flow velocities for a rare (100-yearly) and an extreme event (hN = 90 mm/sqm/h) and can be displayed via separate layers in the service. The results were calculated on the basis of a 3D model (DGM1 NRW), the ATKIS/ALKIS data NRW, KOSTRA data of the DWD and other additional spatial data.
This nationwide calculation provides an overview of the danger areas of heavy rain events for the state of NRW and can serve as a basis for more detailed analyses.
