The North Rhine-Westphalia overview map is a highly generalised grid map of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which provides a rough overview of North Rhine-Westphalia on the basis of the representation of larger or important places, as well as larger waters. It is not part of the official topographical map works defined for the whole of Germany. With the limitation to a few map contents, it forms a basis for rough navigation, e.g. as an entry map in geographical information systems. — Stand: 28.03.2013
