Overview of the 54 voting districts and 26 electoral districts in the city of Remscheid. A voting district is a local delimitation (organizational unit) for holding in political elections. The voting districts are to be distinguished according to the statutory provisions (Law on municipal elections/Landtag Election Act) in such a way as to facilitate participation in the election as much as possible for all persons entitled to vote. Each voting district is assigned a polling station to carry out the electoral process. Electoral districts result from the aggregation of the corresponding voting districts. Changes are made by the municipal election committee when changes in population distribution or legal requirements are required. The last time in Remscheid on 26 February 2020, adjustments were decided on the basis of a judgment of the Constitutional Court for the Land NRW of 20 December 2019 (VerfGH 35/19).
