The soil sensitivity maps were prepared according to the Saxon soil assessment instrument, as at 10/2021. For the first time, all 1200 guide profiles of the digital ground map 1:50,000 used for the evaluation were subjected to laboratory testing. The ground map 1:50,000 is based on the 54 individual sheets of the Free State of Saxony. Successively, the new level of knowledge on soil and soil protection are incorporated into the evaluations of the soil functions. This information will be published with updates. Here it is necessary to clarify to which impairment factors the soils are sensitive. These are e.g. sealing, soil removal, changes in water conditions, erosion by wind and water, and (damage) fabric entries. The sensitivity is directly dependent on the soil functional properties. For example, wet soils are very sensitive to drainage measures or dry soils very sensitive to irrigation measures.
