The water stationing map with the associated lists forms the basis for a nationwide harmonised classification for the allocation of data and information on flowing waters, standing waters and their catchment areas. In addition, it is based on the application of automated data processing, such as geographical information systems, databases, etc. It is based on the provisions of the “Directive for Territories and Water Encryption” of the Länderarbeitsgemeinschaft Wasser (LAWA) of 2005.
