Administrative areas 1:1 000 000 — as at 31.12.

The database comprises the administrative units of the hierarchical administrative levels from the state to the districts in the Federal Republic of Germany with their administrative boundaries, statistical key figures, the name of the administrative unit and the specific description of the administrative level of the respective federal state. The initial production was carried out by analog and digital output data of the national surveying facilities. The measurement scale varies from 1:5 000 to 1:200 000 depending on the federal state. The data is continued on the basis of the municipal registers and registration templates of the statistical state offices, the Federal Statistical Office and the Land Survey Offices in an annual cycle. The geometry of the boundary is aligned with the digital landscape model scale 1:1 000 000 (DLM1000) in terms of accuracy and resolution. The product is available in the open data area and primarily serves the mapping of statistical evaluations. The data set is available in the two specifications Compact and Layers. This product is available in other versions: VG1000 with stand 01.01. (VG1000-0101) and additionally with population figures (VG1000-EW_3112).
