Due to their high resolution, LiDAR (LiDAR = Light Detection and Ranging) is ideal for the digital analysis and mapping of small geomorphological forms. The high accuracy of the derived digital terrain models (DGM) allows the visualisation and detection of various natural and anthropogenic relief forms, such as ping, daybreaks, small valleys, stream runs, field and forest paths. Different geomorphological structures and forms can be defined spatially using computer-aided geoprocessing and analysis methods, mathematical and statistical techniques and methods.
